Quick Start Guide - Add a User

To add a new BIG4books.com user to your account, start by logging in to your administrator account, as described in 'Admin Login'. Then, at the 'Account Management' screen, click the 'Go' button in the 'Add A New User' form. The following screen should appear:



Please fill in the username, first name, last name, valid email address, telephone, and fax for the user to be added. The username must be unique across all of the BIG4books.com users; the system will alert you if the username you choose is already in use. The email address must be a valid email address for the user. A randomly generated initial password will be communicated to the email address.

In the 'User Access Control' section, select the check boxes next to the accounting software functions you want the new user to have access to.

Tip - When you add a new user account, review the access controls and enable only those accounting functions you want the new user to have access to. By default, all functions are enabled. The check boxes work in a heirarchy; for example the 'Receivables' check box will enable / disable all Receivables functions. Please be sure to scroll down the browser window to view all the feature check boxes. If you are unsure you may come back at a later time using the Modify User selection on the Account Management' screen.

Tip - Also note that all functions are enabled for the user account that is automatically created when you first create your BIG4books.com account. We assume that as your account administrator, you will need access to the 'System' functions, and you can use the first user account as your own account with access to all the accounting features.


Click 'Go' in the User Account Information form to submit the new user information, and a confirmation screen similar to the following should appear:



Click Confirm on the User Account Information form to finalize the new user addition. Or, use the Browser Back arrow to go back and make changes if you need to. After clicking Confirm you should get a success screen similar to the following:



The user information, including a randomly generated initial password, will then be emailed to the user, so he or she can login to the system.
